Unable to send a connection request
You can connect with collectors you know on CollectionStation. Connections are mutual — both people must agree before you are connected.
If you cannot send a connection request, or Connect is missing or does not work, one of the reasons below usually applies.
A request is already pending or you are already connected
You may have already sent a connection request that is still waiting for a response.
- Open your Connections hub, click My Requests, and check the Outgoing section.
- If a request is listed, wait for the collector to respond or click Cancel to withdraw it.
See Cancel a connection request you sent for step-by-step help.
If you are already connected, you will not see Connect. Open the collector's profile and click Disconnect first only if you want to end the mutual connection.
You or the other collector reached the connection limit
Each collector account can have up to 5,000 connections.
If you are at the limit:
- Disconnect from someone you no longer need as a connection, then send a new request.
- Follow the collector instead if their privacy settings allow it. You can still see their public posts in your feed without being connected.
If the other collector is at the limit, they cannot accept your request until they free a connection slot.
You or the other collector blocked the connection
Connection requests cannot be sent when either person has blocked the other.
- If you blocked the collector, see Unblock a collector and unblock them from Account settings → Blocked Collectors if you want to connect again.
- If they blocked you, you cannot send a connection request until they unblock you.
See Block a collector for how blocking affects connections, messages, and your feed.
The collector already sent you a request
When someone sends you a pending connection request, you cannot send a separate request back until that request is resolved.
- Open your Connections hub, click My Requests, and use Accept or Ignore in the Incoming section, or
- Open their profile and click Accept connection or Decline.
See Accept a connection request.
A previous request was ignored or cancelled
If a collector ignored a request you sent earlier, or you cancelled one, you can send a new connection request later.
Open their profile and click Connect, or use Connect from Collectors or a profile hover card.
You are not signed in
You must sign in before you can send connection requests. After signing in, open the collector's profile and click Connect.
Follow instead of connect
If you only want public updates in your feed, you may not need a mutual connection. From the collector's profile, open the More menu (⋯) and click Follow.
If Follow is unavailable, the collector may not be accepting new followers under their privacy settings.
