Group invite

Group invitations let collectors join private or hidden groups they cannot open from the public Groups directory. Organizers and permitted members can invite collectors by name; invitees receive an email with a link to the group and an optional personal message.

CollectionStation does not use a separate preview mode. Until you are a member, you can open the group from the invitation link, but you cannot post or comment in a private group until you join.

When you receive a group invitation

When someone invites you to a group:

1. You receive an email from CollectionStation with the group name, the inviter's name, and any invite message they included.
2. Open the group link in the email to view the group page.
3. If the group is public, click Join Group to become a member.
4. If the group is private or hidden, you may need the organizer to complete your membership after you accept the invitation. Use the link in the email and follow any on-screen steps, or contact the person who invited you.

You are not a full member until you join the group. Until then, you cannot post or comment in a private group's feed.

Send a group invitation

If you are allowed to invite others:

1. Sign in to CollectionStation.
2. Open the group you belong to.
3. Click the Send Invites tab.
4. Search for collectors to invite. You can limit the list to Connections only.
5. Select one or more collectors.
6. Optionally customize the invite message.
7. Click Send.

Invited collectors receive an email notification. You can review outstanding invitations on the Pending Invites tab.

Manage pending invitations

To see or cancel invitations that have not been accepted yet:

1. Open the group.
2. Go to Send Invites, then click Pending Invites.
3. Find the collector in the list.
4. Click Cancel to withdraw the invitation.

Organizers can cancel invitations sent by other members. Inviters can cancel their own pending invitations.

Who can send invitations

Each group controls who may invite new members. An organizer sets this under Edit group → Invitations. Options include:

• All group members
• Organizers and Moderators only
• Organizers only

If you do not see Send Invites, your role or the group's settings do not allow you to invite others.

If an invitation does not work

An invitation may fail or not appear when:

• The collector is already a member.
• A pending invitation already exists for that collector.
• You blocked each other, or site rules prevent the invite.
• You selected more than 25 collectors in one send batch.
